	What is ransomware? The Department for Education (DFE) and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have recently written to all schools to raise awareness of the increasing threat of ransomware attacks. Lancashire County Council Education Digital Services have sent out additional information via the Lancashire Schools' Portal and email to help our subscribing schools understand how the services we provide can help protect them. We have also added useful links to the NCSC on our Safeguarding and Security support page.

	Remote Desktop Access (SGD) The Remote Desktop Access service provides a secure connection (using your web browser) from a remote or home location to your school network desktop or Remote Desktop Services server.
	Safeguarding and Security Netsweeper filtering is the new product chosen by Lancashire County Council Education Digital Services to provide internet filtering to connected schools. It provides enhanced SSL Filtering as standard, excellent reporting facilities and a secure dual site configuration. It is also compliant with the UK Safer Internet Centre guidance.
